Our girls have shared a room since our youngest was born. Well, we had a crib in there, and it was decorated super cute, but lets be honest she stayed in our room until she was almost two. When we built our house, we planned on letting the kids be involved in choosing the look for their room. We have never been into decorating with cartoon characters, so we knew we didn’t have to worry about that. Luckily, they are pretty much inseparable so I knew they would agree on a look.
Haisley is eight and she has always been our “wild” child. Not in a, she’s bad and does whatever she wants way, but in the she loves everything in the wild kind of way. She’s good with throwing on a pair of old jeans, boots or just going barefoot and she’s out the door. We’ve actually always called her our “hippie- child”. Hadison on the other hand is the complete opposite. She is four and likes everything fancy. If something has sparkles, rhinestones, glitter, bright colors she wants it. She likes to have her hair fixed and make up on (lip gloss or chap stick), dresses or skirts, jewelry, pretty much anything extra. So I knew we would have to blend together their styles so they would both enjoy it. We kept the décor simple and there’s opportunity for each of them to add their personal touches as they grow older to match their personalities.
I am a lover of all things vintage and all my kids love to go antique shopping. A lot of the stuff in their rooms are from antique shops or yard sales. We wanted to keep the space relaxing and clutter free. They each have a few toys but most of them are stored in the play/homeschool room. Haisley spends a lot of time in her room reading or writing in her diary while Hadison mostly plays with the doll house or plays dress up and “puts on makeup” at her vanity table.
I hope you enjoyed a look into their space. Below I linked the sources. For items that are no longer available I’ve linked similar items. If you have any questions comment below!! You can also follow us on Pinterest and Instagram for more inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!
