The holidays are all about getting together with family and friends, so we like to take it up a notch by bringing the Christmas season into our home with festive decorations, scented candles, and cozy blankets to snuggle under while watching holiday movies. A beautifully decorated farmhouse bedroom always makes Christmas morning that much more special, so here’s a mini tour of our Christmas country farmhouse bedroom. We hope it inspires you to add some homemade touches to your own holiday decorating!
The Kitchen
The country kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s a place where family gathers, recipes are shared, and memories are made. The smells that fill this space in the morning with fresh baked goods, coffee, and bacon are reminders that life is good. There’s a certain feeling that comes over you when you walk in here- it’s cozy and comforting all at once.
The Living Room
Christmas morning is a time for family to gather together and open presents under the tree. The fireplace is the focal point in our living room. The Christmas tree stands tall in front of the fireplace, and it’s covered with ornaments we’ve collected over the years. The tree in the living room is actually pretty special to me, it’s our “heirloom” tree. It has ornaments that have been pasted down from grandparents, some handmade, some made by my kids. One of the traditions we stated as a family is whenever we go on vacations (we like to visit national and state parks) we get an ornament from that state. My kids love it and it’s always fun to relive those memories while decorating the tree every year. It may not be a magazine worthy tree but it most definitely my favorite. It always smells like cinnamon spice candles burning, pinecones, and mulling spices simmering on the stove top.
The Dining Room
Christmas day is often celebrated with a big dinner and plenty of desserts. The dining room table is set with Christmas tree plates, serving ware, and fancy Christmas tree decorations to create a timeless country Christmas farmhouse look. Everyone gathered around the table to enjoy food and games including cards, dominoes, and more.
The Bedrooms
Kids decorate their own rooms for Christmas. The boys go for a classic Christmas look. The girls like to stick to pink and gold.
I Hope you enjoyed our mini tour.
We hope you enjoyed our mini tour through The Crowded Farmhouse. As you can see, there are many different ways to decorate for the holidays. There are also plenty of ways to add a rustic, antique feel as well. Did you know that cottage-style decorations can be found in any style of home? You might want to try something different this year! You can watch a live tour, featured on Holly’s YouTube channel Living It County here. Thanks for watching!
