Hello June!! That happened fast didn’t it! I truly cant not believe that we have been living in our new home for 7 months now. We moved in at the busiest time of year for us so there has been a lot happen here and a lot of changes. We moved in early November so of course the first thing I had to do was put up my fall decorations, we celebrated Thanksgiving, my youngest daughter’s birthday, Christmas (well several Christmas parties), my oldest children even got Baptized here. One of the biggest changes we made was changing our dining room into the school/playroom, which is honestly still a work in progress (Hopefully we will start on completing the room soon and will have some posts on it). There has been no shortage of fun & change around here and summer is just beginning.
If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably noticed I share a lot of the home decor on my feed and a lot of the homesteading/farm in the stories. I truly have a passion for both, however, I have found that the majority of my followers prefer the home decor. Usually what I post on Instagram doesn’t translate well to Facebook so I have made that page more of a deals and shopping page. I usually share fun things I find on sale or must have decorations. When I first decided to start this journey I truly had no idea how much time and effort had to be put in to it. I am truly thankful for all of my followers and the experiences that this blog has lead me to.
We have a few projects on our list that we want to tackle this summer but the price of lumber may hinder that a bit. I do not like buying anything that isn’t on sale or a good deal so the thought of starting a project now with lumber prices being so high seems silly to me. My garden has kept me pretty busy this spring/early summer and the kids and I have really enjoyed it. I by no means have a green thumb so its been a learning process. This year my daughter decided to stop taking dance after six years and branch out into softball. She played t-ball once when she was 4 so this year was completely new. She is very athletic so it was no surprise that she was a natural. She even made the All-Star team and competed in her first softball tournament. Our 4 year old and 6 year olds also played t-ball this year and while all of it was a bit of a whirl-wind it was so much fun to watch. With all that being said we are hoping to slow down and enjoy our summer around the farm. Maybe even create our own outdoor oasis.
I’ll continue to post on the blog as we complete these projects and archive them, but keep a watch out for the social media posts which are currently more frequent.
