I love a timeless classic vintage style for a boys bedroom. One of the things I love most about our boys bedroom is that is works from “big boy” room to the teen years. This room is definitely one of my favorites in our house.
I am not usually one to paint bold colors on the walls, I tend to normally stick with more neutral colors. However I LOVE the color the boys agreed on for their room. Hyde (our oldest boy & Haisley’s twin) wanted blue walls while Holden (our youngest boy) wanted green. I knew the girls room was already going to be painted green and I really didn’t want them to be the same color. We spent hours in the hardware store & online looking at paint samples. They finally found the perfect color, Valiant blue by Sherwin Williams.
When it came to decorating, that was easy, They both love the outdoors and adventures. We have taken quite a few vacations that revolved around National Parks and our oldest has become quite fascinated with them, so we knew we wanted to incorporate that somehow. Most of the knick-knacks in their room came from vacations & antique stores, (Yes they love going to antiques stores.) Holden loves animals and knows just about everything there is to know about them so of course he had to add a few to their room.
With their bedding I wanted to keep it simple. Something that I could easily change the look by adding different throw pillows or sheets. A lot of their stuff I have been collecting for years in anticipation of building a house. The beanbags and rug make for a comfortable spot reading books or playing Legos. The natural light and paint color make their room so relaxing and its usually where all the kids end up at the end of the day,
I’ll link some of the stuff in their room, if its not available anymore I’ll add something similar. Follow me on Instagram for more inspiration. If you have any questions please leave a comment below!
